Buzz Surrounding Mystery Startup Reaches Fever Pitch

San Francisco, CA - One of the hottest start-ups in recent years today outlined its plans to dominate a ninety billion dollar ($90b) global market within three years.

"We've got the business that makes Google yesterday's news" said John M. Doe III, the company's founder and CEO, during a recent confidential briefing to journalists and analysts at an undisclosed location in Silicon Valley.

Of course, John Doe is not his real name. Like everything else about this white-hot company, John's real name is kept strictly secret under the terms of a carefully drafted NDA.

With an opportunity of this scale and sensitivity, any leak of valuable trade secrets can spell disaster. When the stakes are this high, no-one is game to spill the beans. Not if they want to avoid a multi-billion dollar law suit.

"This is stealth mode on steroids", said the company's General-Counsel and Executive VP Legal, whose name is also under wraps. "I've never seen a company working this far under the radar before. Then again, I've never seen a company with this much potential to turn a market on its head."

Such is the buzz surrounding the company, that even A-list VC's are scrambling to get a piece of the action.

"We wouldn't normally sign up to such restrictive terms, but [John]'s obsession with secrecy was off the charts. We got curious." said one prominent VC. "I can't say much, but I can say that their approach was spot on. For their business model, secrecy makes perfect sense."

Others are less convinced. An investor who refused to sign the company's NDA sounded this word of warning. "This is a whole lot of hot air. If you can't tell me what you do, you're not getting my money. Period."

With so much riding on secrecy, some analysts are wondering how long it will be before key details leak out.

Not a problem, according to Jamie Wodetzki, whose company [Exari] hosts an online facility for drafting NDA's.

"Just browse to www.exari.net and you'll have a tailor-made NDA in minutes."

"I can't comment on [John]'s company, but let me put it this way: If you had to create NDA's for thousands of staff, partners and suppliers, and you had to do it consistently, and in real time, we can make it happen."
