GENERAL SUMMARY

The Business Development Executive role is a critical part of sales organisation, focused on outgoing sales leads creation, providing high-level product knowledge to potential customers, and introducing customers to the appropriate Sales Executive.

The right individual will be one who loves the concept of selling, and who can be categorised as a true “hunter.” S/he will be able to manage the business development process with little supervision.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Cold Call new prospects
  • Qualify prospects ready for Sales Executive engagement
  • Develop prospecting plans
  • Track progress
  • Create and manage email marketing campaigns (with support from Marketing) to generate prospect demand
  • Coordinate with marketing to drive demand from: webinars and conferences
  • Update CRM systems with appropriate details
  • Meet Lead generation quota
  • Develop interest in Exari products with potential customers

PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Must have at least 3 years’ experience with proven success in a similar type of role
  • A self-starter who has a strong work ethic
  • Very strong customer service / client management skills
  • An individual who thrives on making outbound calls in order to generate new business opportunities
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining a sense of urgency
  • Strong, positive, do-what it takes attitude
  • Organised with the ability to book appointments and coordinate calendars, and schedule meetings for the sales team members
  • Enjoys researching the market for potential business leads, and understands the competition
  • Experience with lead generation, cold-calls, email marketing campaigns
  • Track (and organize) all pipeline activities, and provide reports to management
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills – in person, written, and over the phone
  • Experience using Salesforce.com a plus
  • Degree preferred

  • Other related duties and projects as assigned.
